Question on rules...

Post by Caldwell »

This question is based on a situation that recently happened in the Bandit Trader.  I would like to get an Admin's feedback.

I killed a player and disabled their pook while doing a mission.  The player I killed came back and go the key off their body and left the area.  I fixed the pook and took it to bandit trader to sell.  The player I took the pook from came into the safe zone and locked the pook before I could sell it.  This all happened within the safe zone.  Isn't this the same as a trader theft?  It shouldn't matter if someone had the key to it.  I had no way of defending it in the safezone.

I don't think there is a rule for that as situations like that are very rare. It is up to an admin to decide.

If the player has the key and locks the vehicle, that still doesn't allow them access to the vehicle. If you drove it into the safezone, the vehicle won't allow anyone that isn't in your group into the vehicle. In this situation, waiting for the owner to unlock the vehicle or just waiting for the restart to delete the vehicle in the safezone would have been the only options since he had the key.

Understood, so does it count as trader griefing/stealing?

No, due to the fact that they still had the key. I have classified this in the virtual garage/hangar system etc... by making it so only the person with the key can store the vehicle, and this is how I will classify the owner of the vehicle.
