Also, safe hacks will create a lot of crying to admin in side about their safes being deleted and sending you screenshots or whatever. Sounds annoying.


back in the day on ccg when bases where destructible, you never had bases completely destroyed. i found that when you went to servers that had indestructable bases more raiding and base takeovers happened

Well thats stupid because the owner of the safe has to deal with the ENTIRE server instead of just the one person that is attacking them

Who else thinks the raiding should be the same as GG was. It promotes more skill because you have to actually get the guy with the door(s) open.

you get this kind of notification on exile but rarely do you get the whole server if ever, maybe you get the odd person and group but if you have committed to raiding the safes then you should be easily be prepared to defend it instead of being a puss and raiding when base owners are offline

I kinda like the idea - it acts as a bit of a protection from offline raiding, and if you're online, you're right, it'll attract the server, but they'll be fighting each other too. I think its a great idea. Nobody can just quietly clean out a base on the edge of the map while checking their 1000m every minute.

GG died. It might not be a good idea to take too much from their example. Plus, something "different" is what draws a pop and we need that DESPERATELY

i agree and looking at the high pop servers being militarised maybe thats what people want as they all seem to rank high, people dont really go to a server because of custom missions etc they want something different, having the run of the mil dayz settings ie a poo ifv as the highest armored vehicle is just overdone.

you want udder to be something to remember not a carbon copy of everything out there

The concern I have with this is that people who have no life/job and play during the down hours would have free reign to take over every base on the server without anyone around to stop them.  Even if there was a message to server, if only 1 or 2 people are on during down hours they have tons of time to raid bases unhindered.  If anyone has lost a base before they know the devastation of weeks or months of work going down the tube.  We have to remember that GG died due to poor management from the owners, not from raiding bases.  The server is picking back up now that Egg has had time to update and I believe will continue to do so in the next month.  People like new things, just human nature that's why server start going all militarized and crazy, but that appeals very little to the new player on server since they are just obliterated and can't make a fresh start.  If we want to attract new people to the community I don't think going crazy with militarized and base raiding is the answer.  That's why Wasteland servers are out there...

There was a lot of reasons GG died, but one of the big reasons they got popular was they had several hived servers. That was a great unique feature and it drew a crowd. Keeping the crowd is the hard part, but drawing it just requires you to do something interesting.

 

Yesterday there were a lot of new players online, but a lot of them left after seeing that there was no base raiding. Another couple left because of all the base campers. When you can't remove plot poles, but you can blow doors down, you won't lose your base. You'll lose anything that's not in a properly locked and maintained safe. To me, that's perfect. If I leave things in a shed and people spend an hour or two blowing down my doors with a sledge to get it, that's great. My safes are safe, and the only cost to me are the things in my shed and a few tank traps, metal poles and combo locks. Raiding is a huge part of the game and I think this is the perfect way to add it in.
